not really .. not taking anything away from the 2.7 performance but its not a small engine ... Skylines have been making over 1000 whp for years with an engine "smaller"

I think it's cool to see what the little 2.7l can make. Nothing wrong with it! It's nice to see aftermarket support for all the engines offered in the F150. Not everyone will buy a 3.5 Eco or a 5.0.

2.7 L is smaller than the 200 cubic inch L-6 that my first car had in it. We've come a long way!

Perhaps it isn't small by today's standards, but I grew up in times when Ford had the 429 and 351, and GM had the 427 and later, the 454, all V8 engines. I recall my 1990 Mustang LX 5.0, sporting a 302 cubic inch V8 with a whopping 225 HP. That was considered a smaller V8 and was about the cheapest thrills you could buy at the showroom at the time.

I have a question for you 5star, perhaps you can shed light on it.
Do the 2.7's have larger cam pump lobes for the HPFP than the 3.5? I'm seeing from someone that they do, and that makes me damned sad because the mustang also has massive pump lobes and can literally power fbo e85 cars with over 50% blend to the HPFP.
meanwhile if i run e50 my blend has to stay at like 40% or it drops a quite a bit of pressure.

If your chasing HP then get the 50 and supercharge it . game over guys ... the point of the 2.7L bigger turbos is how much Ford restricts it compared to the 3.5 and it you want real mileage and the HP get the 2.7L with some turbos game over for the 3.5L ... and we own 4 trucks with the 3.5L ... right now there are no decent options for 3.5 turbos. as of yet... we are sure there will be down the road .

You have to be kidding me? I am just getting into these trucks, but it is the most common turbocharged engine produced today isn't it? I know you cant just swap in some VF52's or Garret 60's because of the cooling (oil vs water) but it seems like someone would have jumped on this by now. I kind of wish ford had used oil cooling because I am fairly certain you could pull 700hp out of a pair of tuned VF52's on 93 and you could buy them with almost zero miles on them for like $100/per off of Subaru boards. lol
