Default Gear lockout by MPH

So title really says it all.
I have been thinking of getting a tuner mostly cause of the bogging that my 15 ecoboost does on the back roads on inclines and the computer doesn't shift down on.
So my question is if I get a custom tune can they set some data that will lock out gears by mile per hour speed?
For example don't let the truck shift into 5th gear untill the truck is going 40mph

I think that might be done. Best bet is to call your tuner and ask them.

Just put it in tow/haul mode. It does the same thing.

Just lock out the upper gears as needed with the stock trans, only a push of a button or 3 (on my 6spd 2017 XL). Commonly locking out 6-5-4 at 35mph and below. KM

Great I will contact the tuner I plan on using.
as far a putting it in tow/haul and shifting with the buttons on the side of the shifter I just don't want to have to do that all the time I bought a auto trans to not have to do that. I like to lazy drive

I'm with you...Except I bought an auto only because there are no new manual trans F150s and I haven't found a good way to convert mine to full manual (clutch and shifter)

I am also planning to have a revision done to lockout gears based on mph. Just as soon as I find the exact mph that I want each shift to occur.
I'm thinking:
6th only above 50mph
5th only above 40mph
4th only above 30mph
3rd only above 20mph

I'm not super unhappy with it now, but it seems to always be in 1 gear too high at low speed.

Putting into "tow haul" is not needed. At least on mine. I too wish a manual 6 speed was available, and would have ordered it that way. KM

those speeds look close to what I'm looking to do as well. I'm going to go do some speed studying in the next few days.
my biggest one that I have a issue with is 5th I'll be at 32-36mph in 5th at 1000rpm and will have to go to 30%+ TP to get it to down shift and again I should have to think about making it down shift just do it.!
