Thank you so much for your opinions guys. I agree with the idea of putting some miles on it for a little while to make sure all of the 'wet behind the ears' kinks are all worked out. I like the idea of the supercharger and will most likely at some safe point take the plunge. It's good to know that it's something you can DIY in your home garage or driveway. Will stay in touch when I do!

I agree with what everyone above said. To think a boosted truck is going to be reliable 10+ years is a stretch. The Gen3 Coyote and 10r80 has been around for 3 model years now, so there is some track record to stand on, and they have also had their flaws.

I was going to wait until 10k miles, but then everything went on sale so I bought it early. Had it sitting on my bench and Corona cabin fever set in so it went on at 6k. It’s a solid plan to give the truck a shake down and make sure nothing else will happen after your trans valve body warranty. If nothing else happens you will feel more confident, if things keep happening then you wouldn’t consciously add more complications to the equation by boosting it, warranty or not.

Oil consumption is a highly debated topic, so this is my personal experience. I consumed a quart in the first oil change at 3k miles. When I changed the oil at supercharger time 3k miles later I was down .75ish quarts. The intake runners into the cylinder heads were brown from oil. It comes through the PVC system. I changed the oil to 5w30. Ran truck 1k miles boosted, and had to take supercharger off for a self induced dealer visit. When I had the SC off, the heads were actually cleaner!! Fuel spray cleaned them off. Now I am 2k boosted and I am down maybe 1/4 quart.

Giving the truck a few thousand miles is a good idea before strapping a ton of power on it. I gave my truck 5k miles to make sure I didn’t have a lemon. I had a couple of small quirks but nothing that scared me away from a blower. A little common sense goes a long way in keeping a boosted truck happy

I have had 2 Fords with the Roush supercharger. First was a 14 Roush Raptor then a 17 F150. The Ford dealer I used for both was a Roush dealer and they were awesome for any warranty work or issues I had on both trucks. That being said they will really look for anything they can to decline the warranty.
i know the Raptor is a different engine all together but I put 100k hard driven miles in 4 years and it was still going strong when I traded it in.

That's good to know about the reliability! Nice!
