Default Which is fastest in quarter mile race?

Is it the 2.7, 3.5 or 5.0? I use this truck for work, surf fishing, etc as a truck should be used for. But at 385hp this thing is quick. I'm curious as to which one would be the fastest, same model and gearing. I raced a 3.5 eco with my 13' 5.0 and he beat me by two trucks from 0-90. With the extra 20hp you would have to think the 5.0 should edge out the 3.5 in the quarter mile. Also how about against the hemis with the 395hp?

The 5.0 is slower than both EcoBoosts. The torque doesn't come on until later on the 5.0 so it's harder to get off the line although it would start pulling up top, especially on the 2.7L EB.

3.5 is the fastest. Wait till 2017 and it will be hands down the fastest of the bunch. With the gen 2 3.5 ecoboost

I should have asked this question differently on my post. Are their any facts or tested quarter mile times on these? I know the older body style their were , and the eco was like 2/10s quicker in the quarter mile then the 5.0.

Have yet to see a fair, honest to goodness 1/4 mile drag race between any of these trucks. However I did road test a supercrew 6.5" bed Platinum, 3.5EB (not sure of the gear ratio) and the identical truck with the 5.0 and 3.73 gears back to back on the same day. I'm sure there will be plenty of people that will argue this, but if I had to bet money on which truck is quickest, my money would be on the 5.0. Maybe it was the sound of the V8? I don't know, but it seemed quick. Perhaps the Ecoboost was a poor example of the breed? I ended up buying a supercrew Lariat 502a with the 5.0l. And I made sure it had 3.73's. My previous truck was a 2013 Ram sport with the 395horse Hemi, and I can tell you first hand, both of the F150's are quicker than the Ram. The EB I drove, was a demo with 7000km and the 5.0 was brand new with 0 km.

The 5.0L ran a 15.29 in the 1/4 mile in past years 1/2 ton challenge and the 3.5 ran 14.8. Granted the test was done with different temps and conditions but I'd bet they are both around that 15 second mark consistently. I wish I would've gotten the 3.5 for the everyday torque from 2-3k rpms as I don't drive WOT all the time but at full throttle they are almost identical in terms of 1/4 mile times. 3.5 is better off the line but the extra HP is what helps in 1/4 miles

If you don't plan on doing any major mods, go 3.5. If you want to spend some money, the supercharged 5.0 is a hoss. Tuned, the 3.5 has some wicked torque and runs really well. There is plenty of room for even more if you change out down pipes, intake and exhaust as well.

If the hp wars continue and fuel doesn't get stupid high, the 2017s should be nice. We might be back up to $90 a barrel in two years though, so watch for the EPA and/or manufacturers to start doing weird things again, like they did in 2009 and around that year.

Here's 4 drag race videos I saw of the 5.0 vs 3.5 in pre 15 F150s. Not sure if the EB driver got bad starts but I thought the 3.5 would win every time.

Haha that race is 1039' short of a quarter mile! It's a 281' race, I'm sure Ford purposely did that to exploit the low RPM torque of the turbo engines IMHO. I would be curious to see an honest 1/4 mile runs between them.
