Exhaust/Tune question. 3.5L EcoBoost

I have a 2013 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost. I am now looking at getting a exhaust system as well as a tuner. But it seems hard to determine what the best options are. If anyone could recommend me some options that would be awesome. As of right now it has a 2.5” spacer in the front and 34” tires. Gonna tint the windows and then look at tuners and exhaust systems.

What are you looking for out of the exhaust?

I also have a 2013 Ford F-150 with a 3.5L EcoBoost and was hoping to maybe do the same thing this coming summer with the exhaust and tuner. In my case I would like a little more aggressive sound and a bit more power and maybe more MPG. Would like to hear what other 3.5L EcoBoost owners have done and like.

IMO,just get the Tune you won't feel much or any difference with the exhaust!!So keep your exhaust money in the bank!!!:)

Start with a tune as it will give you 90% of what you are looking for

Thanks guys! I appreciate your input.

The tune for sure! As far as exhaust your going to get a large number of guys telling you not to do it. I will tell you that you won’t see any power difference with an aftermarket exhaust setup but the type of sound you will get will vary greatly from one company to another. I went through three different exhaust setups in a span of 4 weeks. The first setup was the 4” AFE Mach Force xp. It is a well made system and looks great but I knew immediately that the sound was not for me. The amount of cabin noise was WAY more than I was looking for and the sound at low RPM was not very good. I had the AFE exhaust removed and had a custom setup put on with a Flowmaster Super 10 mufler the very next weekend and it was much the same although the exterior sound of the flowmaster was much nicer sounding at low rpm. The following Monday I ordered the Borla Touring 3” system per the recommendation of the guys at American Trucks. They told me that the Touring setup is the closest sounding exhaust to the factory setup on the Raptor so I purchased it. $1200 shipped and it was worth every penny IMO. Very quite in the cab an very nice sounding when you give it some throttle. At first I thought it was too quite due to the lack of volume in the cab but I had my wife drive it a little aggressively while I was outside listening and it sounds great! I am very happy with the purchase and I get several compliments from people about the sound.

American Muscle has videos of like just about every exhaust. You can hear cabin noise and such, it's convenient.

I know that this thread is a little old but here is a link to a sound clip of my truck with the Borla Touring exhaust system.
