the legit companies will be just fine. For most gas tuners it’s a non-issue.

There was so much fake information in the original thread that led to this one that the original thread link on the first page here was deleted. Don’t believe the hype… There is none.

I figured that might happen, which is why I created this thread. For it to come from a forum vendor is a little disturbing.

I don’t know him or his business at all but if he got his stuff yanked that means he was doing stuff he shouldn’t have been. Or he may just have been grossly misinformed.

I'm late to this party so I don't know who the vendor is you're speaking of (not asking for info) but I had issues with my tune when I went to get my truck inspected. There were 4 status monitors Not Ready. Drove a while and same thing so I went back to stock and drove it about 30 miles and all monitors were Ready and it passed no issues. Didn't think much about it because I thought last time it passed when tuned.
My cousin calls me today and says his is doing the exact same thing with the same monitors not ready. Sounds like the person we are using (I won't give up the name at this time) has something in the tune.
They were:
  • Catalyst (CAT)
  • Evaporative (EVAP) System
  • Oxygen (O2) Sensor
  • Oxygen Sensor Heater

One of the popular tuners disables the rear o2’s, presumably so you can de-cat without MIL. It won’t pass our inspection due to not-ready status. This was true going back to 2011 at least.

I’m part owner of one of the largest high performance diesel forums out there...we’ve tried for years to promote cleaner tuning but these kids just don’t listen. They don’t care about anything but how many people watch their IG videos. It’s largely ruined diesel Motorsports. One of the largest sanctioning bodies for diesels folded this year in part because of the negative publicity. We tried to change it...we just failed.
I personally owned one making 4 figure power that was virtually clean at WOT so it’s definitely possible.

Maybe i'm missing something here, I just got my BDX and set it up today. I didn't see any "canned" tunes to load? I'm waiting for my 5* tunes but was under the impression there were some tunes already there, was i wrong?
