Tuner itself locks to your VIN. But the custom tunes are done using your stock tune code. You don't have to give the tuner company your VIN. VIN wouldn't change the tune strategy you give the tuner. May not be the same as the stock tune you had from the factory either, if their was an update for your truck.

I just updated my SCT BDX with the SCT Device Updater, as I need to load a new revision from my tuner, and my BDX didn't self destruct. I loaded the tune onto the device like always, and got no other indications any major changes had occurred. When I get off work tonight I'm flashing the truck and I'll report back if Captain Planet descends from the heavens to admonish me for my ecological sins.

Im in Alabama so it shouldnt effect me much, other than the tuner. We dont have emissions testing (yet)

Agreed. F****g A****s. Useless, ignorant, stupid, I can think of nothing worse for some dumbass redneck minded punk to do. Especially when used to fumigate passer bys, other cars, bikers, runners, etc. Me and a running buddy literally caught up with one of these a****s at a stoplight after being blasted by his coal rolling setup, and the little b***h rolled up his windows and was crapping his pants. If we could have gotten the door open he would have been beat in the middle the the street.
