Default CVF Ecoboost Air Intake

Was able to get my hands on the new CVF Air Intake over the weekend. With a duel runner design and a wrinkle black finish, it’s a sharp looking piece.

Installation was a breeze, I’d say 30 minutes, and that’s with stopping to warm up my hands a few times (it was 28 degrees out.) Fitment was spot on, just make sure not to tighten down any clamps until everything is all lined up. The open box has rubbing stripping that helps it seal against the hood to keep the engine heat out.

Being an open box design, you hear a lot of turbo noise. A lot. Both filters let you know they each lead to a turbo when you step on the gas pedal. After driving around all weekend, this intake throws no CEL’s and actually turns a lot of heads from the jet-like noise it produces. If you’re looking for a better breathing and better sounding intake over the stock setup, look no more.

looks awesome, I get worried living in the deep country with an open air box, you think water and bigger debris will get into if you hit a huge puddle of water?

We're working on a cover for the airbox as we speak - hopefully that will resolve the concerns for the folks who want it closed off!

Puddles, very doubtful. Driving in water above the hood, I would be concerned.

Looks great. I would have ordered one if they made a kit for my truck.

That is what I'd like to see/have. Prefer a sealed airbox vs sealed against the hood. Hope you keep us informed. KM

open air box and a dirty engine bay....clean that thing, lol

Looks good though

It looks like there is a seal around the edges....is there a plate on the hood that sits on that? Cusrious as to why there are 3 seals if there is no lid?

I pretty sure the idea is to seal against the hood. Sure looks like an area not sealed very well, but common in all open airbox CAI designs. That's my reasoning to stay with a sealed airbox pulling in air only thru the snorkel. KM

Yes, it deals against the hood and draws most of its air from the snorkel. Sounds like CVF is also designing a lid.

I am sure it would be fine for 95% of people, I just drive off road a TON and would need it sealed, dust, mud and water are pretty regular for me...haha
