18 Roushcharger questions?
I am looking to buy a 2018 and get ford to install a roush supercharger.
I am looking to build/buy a 2018 lxt sport package supercab 2wd.
My questions are..
what rear end is in the truck? I am wondering if there are rear end differences between packages? when I select the 3.55 E-locker rear end it adds the tow package. does that include the larger rear end? what are the main differences between the 3.31 and 3.55? If none, and they are the same rear end, what are the performance differences between the two? is it worth it to get the 3.55 so that you get the aditional transmission cooler? I dont plan on towing, just driving, and putting 600+rwhp to the ground.
Anyone here have the Roushcharger in a 16-18? what have you done to the truck? has anyone pullied down? anyone ran an aftermarket intake/filter, and are there any gains there? I plan to have someone like vmp tune it, one for stock boost, one for a smaller pulley, and racegas. I dont really want to run e85, I can get 109 pretty close to me, so for track days ill pulley down and fill up with race gas.
I will get the the stock 18s, and get a pair of slicks for track days. what else suspenion wise is mandatory? caltracks?
I will be adding the fox 2.0s(0-2" adjustable, ill keep them on the 0" adjustment to keep stock ride height) so i can drive it on ****ty backroads and whatnot. maybe a 1" or 2" drop shackle to keep it level, we will see how the truck sets. I plan on getting some methods or some other wheels with some ridgegrapplers(maybe 33s) for daily driving(I drive on dirt roads for work)
I'm sure I will come up with more questions.
I am coming from a modified 18 Raptor, so I better be impressed! I want a mid to low 11 sec daily, high 10 sec truck on kill.

Not a substantial difference between the 3.31s and 3.55's on the 10sp auto.
I would suggest though, that if you're going with a blower, to get 4wd wholly for traction purposes. AWD launches can be done on street tires, hahaha
If I'm not mistaken, the 5.0 should get the 9.75 rear end.

Definitely get 4wd, unless you want to be chasing traction issues forever.... and you can keep the truck 100% functional.
As for the rear end....my 5.0 has the 8.8, but that may have changed

Why Roush? I'm not even sure Roush has a SC for the new 2018 5.0 with direct /port injected engine. Whipple will shipping in weeks. If you have it installed by a Whipple installer you get a 3 year 36K warranty. Whipple's out of the box tune makes WAY more power then Roush.
Oh,..and Ford doesn't install superchargers on the 5.0. A Roush authorized dealer installs the kit, just like Whipple.
Here the thread that sold me on a Whipple.

Because I can finance it all in one spot. They are making the new 2650 blowers for the 5.0 F150, confirmed by Roush, they are just finalizing everything. They said it would be over 50 more hp than the 2017 kit. I like that roush and ford are buddy buddy on this kit. It says Ford Performance right on the blower housing. That’s enough for me.

I was hot on a Roush Nitemare myself, ...Until I did more research then it was clear Whipple was a better choice for me. Roush charges big bucks for their lift kits and wheels you can buy at fraction of the cost they charge when you source it yourself.
The financing yeah you got me there.

Yeah, the one I am purchasing will be right at $8500-9000 total, installed by a Roush tech at my local Ford dealer. They are a Roush dealer, and will add the Ford Performance/Roush 2650 charger to any F150/Mustang 5.0. You don't have to finance it, obviously, but that is certainly an option. I don't want all the flashy Roush stuff, just the power. So I am ordering a crew cab 4wd STX with 3.73's, heavy duty tow package, and the 2650.
I like the fact that it is installed since day 1, it has a warranty, the Roush blower is proven to be a deadly power adder, and the 2650 is insanely efficient over the 2300. Pullied down, these 5.0's will make some serious power. I was watching some commentary from VMP on the 2650, and it is pretty insane how much more power these make than the 2300. The 2650 is 25% more efficient than the outgoing 2300, and they are saying it will make the same boost as the 2300 when pullied up 3 sizes......
I have no problems with Whipple, If I were buying a kit to throw on a used F150, I would probably go Whipple. A 2.9 Whipple kit is $7600, the 2650 is right at $7500, Whipple probably has a higher peak HP ability....but that is all speculation at this point. We will know more next month.
VMP is proof that the design works, their 2015 crew cab 4wd XLT truck is running 11.50's with just the 2300 tvs and full exhaust, on 93. I can only imagine what this truck will make once I pulley it down and get a good tune on it. Assuming there aren't fueling issues on these new engines.
