Can we talk drag racing? 5.0 specific..

It's amazing what these 5,000+ lb. trucks are doing now days. My '01 Mustang GT ran 14.4 @ 96 stock, and with 3.73s, 315/35 street comp tires, tune, etc. it ran 14.1 @ 97. I've now added under-drive pulleys, 70mm throttle body, CAI hoping to get to 13.9...time will tell.
Then I look at the pickup truck forum and guys are running nearly the same times in almost stock full size trucks and it's depressing. LOL.
Times are changing! Literally!

I had to work like hell to get my 93 LX 5.0 manual to run 13.50. Just a tune and a K&N drop in got the wife's ecoboost Explorer Sport yo run 13.55 @ 100mph. Crazy what today's cars and trucks are doing. I did get the 93 to 10.84 @ 128mph before the Cali wildfire took it a month ago, but doing that and passing Cali smog was not easy. Curious what my 2012 5.0 157" 4wd 3:73 Lariat will do. Considered baselining today before I start modifying it, but it is raining and this is the last race of the season. I have to start changing moding it. Feels like high 15's now, about where my Ram started. Need to get it to 14.5 to beat the Ram. Currently has a heavy shell on it and I'll bet 87 octane. I wasn't too impressed when I first jumped on it, but it haf 36 gallons of fuel and other crsp in the bed. Can't wait to get the shell off, tune for 91, and do exhaust. Need to put syn oil in it and upgrade hhe air filter. I haven't checked it, but knowing my buddy I got the truck from, it is probably filthy!

As I stated earlier my 12 had a open diff so it would absolutely blaze the rear tire with the TC turned off. I put 22 passes on that truck in one night at Milan Dragway and tried every combination I could think of to get every last bit of ET out of it. With the TC off I had to leave so easy to keep tire hooked up it hurt the 60ft enough that it only ran 15.40s, with it turned on it ran 15.22 to 15.27 every pass.
And just to be clear I have been racing for 25 years and raced my low 11 sec 2.3 Ranger all last year till I wrecked it. Im building a new Ranger with 700hp four banger for True Street racing now.
My problem is my tracks weds nite T&T is busy and I will be lucky to get 4 or 5 passes all night. Figured I skip some of the learning curve with my new 16 by asking some of you guys what you found to be the best combinations.

I am looking into getting a 2018 5.0 F150 to race but if the dealers cannot get the price down enough then I have a neighbor selling his '14 STX with the 5.0 and e-locker for 1/2 price of a new '18 5.0

What is the advantage, are you getting wheel spin and the system is pulling power without unplugging the abs? I just held down the traction control button for 5 seconds and turned off advance track. I didn't have any problems with the traction control trying to interfere.
