Yep with potentially disastrous consequences...He did a great save on that truck.

I had already planned on putting a Raptor TC in mine, not for racing but because I want 4A.

Shifting in and out of 4X4 on dry to slippery roads is a bummer. Interestingly the Raptor part number for the TC is the same as the 2019 Limited with the 3.5 EB-HO, so I'm hoping it might be able to handle a little more torque.

The clutch packs in that auto transfer car are not very big....putting one behind a blown truck would make me nervous. For a daily I’m sure it’ll hold up, but I’d be willing to bet Dorian would have killed the clutches in one of those before he broke the conventional t-case.

Does the raptor have any sort of active cooking to the t-case?

Yeah...Oh I agree...Hard launches should still be done in 4X4 I think. That part is probably no different then what we have.

Hennessy is launching his V8 converted blown Raptors in 4A though. Not sure if he's had any failures, he doesn't have a best reputation for honesty anyway. He doesn't sell crap to hard core racers. Its more about status symbol.

Sorry I didn't see your question.

By active cooking you mean, does it talk on the CAN bus?

Looking at the wiring diagrams I don't think so. The module and 4WD switch is different between the Limited and the Raptor.

The Raptor will switch to different 4WD modes depending on the drive modes where the Limited does not.

The module and switch I bought are for the Limited. I planed in doing it the same time as the headers. It will give me a LOT more room to work.

Sorry about taking the thread off topic. When I get it changed I might start a TC thread. There's already one on adding 4A in the 2015+ forum.

I'd be truly surprised if that made 1000 on 93. I'd bet it wouldn't crack 850.

I took the OP’s question as partly hypothetical...therefore if I could have exactly what I wanted that would be it. Not to mention a few have been close already.

It looks like when the front drive let go on Dorian's truck that it was all rear traction. It looks like the rear tires broke loose and the rear end went left first and then too far right when he corrected it.

That is about a $5,000 love tap on the rear. My 2016 had almost the same exact damage in the same spot from backing out in a parking lot.

Yeah...He recovered really pretty well I thought. Almost went into the other lane but he yanked the wheel back to the right.

I sent him a spare set of tailights I had laying around. Not much but something he won't have to buy. Offered him my TC, but mine wasn't out yet & he found one locally.

He's done a lot for the community.
