Buggy before the horse?
Hello everyone. I am thinking about doing some upgrades to my 2012 F150 XLT 5.0. I don't have big dreams to do 10s in the quarter mile or anything like that. I am looking to do some sensible mods backed by a tuner.
My main questions is, should I do mods first, then get the tuner or should I start getting parts and do the tuner after things are added?
My concern is that if I get the tuner first (with the free maps like 5 star provides), I am then going to have to retune it later on once I start adding parts.
Also, what are some good add ons that you all think would be a good start? My truck is mostly stock other than aesthetics ie. 3" level kit (currently on stock size tires but plan on going up to 33s or 35s), offroad bumpers, things like that.
Thanks in advance

I'd do tuner first. I know 5 star and MPT will update the tune for free if you buy the parts from them. MPT charges $25 to retune for parts bought elsewhere and I think 5?star is $65, in the past 5 star matched MPT's fee for a retune for me...

I literally just bought a S&B intake for my 2.7 EcoBoost, got it from Stage3. 5star sent me a revised tune to compliment the intake for free since I got it from Stage3.
