The 5.0s with the 10-speed are really cool to watch going down the track. The RPMs stay above 4,500 RPM the entire time, which clearly is helping them trap at higher speeds.
LOL, I meant to say except the oil leaks..........

I guess I will ask since no one else did, if that truck was "on" the limiter at the end of the track would it POSSIBLY be just as quick or quicker with 3.31's ???

Not necessarily if that truck was *on* it's speed limiter. Rev limiter, yes; it would need a slightly taller effective final drive. A 1" bump in tire dia on our trucks is worth roughly .125 gear...

depending on how fast you accelerate with the 331’s vs the 3.73’s. The 373’s and limiter may still be faster

Yes. Remove the speed limiter and you will get the true capabilities.

What I was getting at is that with TC you are only going to get so much to the rear wheels anyway, the slightly taller gear may let it run out a bit more? I have 305/22's on mine with a 3.15 and it still gets out pretty good. 2014 5.0

That and I have looked hard into a RCSB 5.0 for this very reason, but you cant get the 3.55 gear without the tow package= more weight.

then get a different gear and go aftermarket, swap in the gear you want and maybe a locker at the same time

More traction simply means you will hit the limiter "quicker" I do have some drag strip exp. My street/strip car is high 9's on slicks.

Possibly, but I dont know a whole lot.......I do know that if I was worried about track numbers, the tune would have the speed limiter turned off and the ability to turn of TC 100% after a certain speed.
