Cone on Mike. Get that kit on. I really want to hear a true dual with x pipe.

I like the stock one.

I made 640rwhp on all stock with stock cats, the 754rwhp on small 1 3/4 kooks headers, green cats, stock catback.

It would have made 800rwhp if I had more fuel volume and ran a smaller pulley.

Another vote for Corsa. It’s plenty loud when you put your foot in it, but has zero drone on the highway. I spend a lot of time on the road, so this was a must for me. It is fairly loud on cold-starts, but calms down. Of course this is subjective, but it’s about as loud as I would want it in the morning living in a suburb

Construction is 304 stainless, which is also a plus. My one and only gripe is that it only comes in a single side behind the rear tire exit configuration for the 5.0. But, I am doing as several are and swapping my lariat rear bumper to the platinum version with exhaust cutouts, and having a shop build a custom solution for this out of 304 stainless using my Corsa muffler and 4.5” tips that I special ordered from them.

All of that said, if volume were not a concern, I would probably go stainless works or vibrant and go true duals. They are loud as heck as they come, but you can stack multiple mufflers/resonators to calm it down.

I'm also in the hunt for a different muffler for my 5.0. Currently have a 10 series Flowmaster and love the sound but my wife hates the inside cab noise/drone of it. I like loud exhaust and have had previous straight-piped 5.4L Ford's that sound great. Was thinking of doing the same but just not sure if I want that much noise yet. Looking pretty hard at a Borla straight-through 3" muffler. Just not sure which one and what not. Also may delete my resonator this time. Don't want to spend $700 plus so just strictly looking at muffler's and a resonator delete. Can't justify getting rid of stainless factory exhaust.

I talked to a local muffler shop, he recommended a 3"/3" offset muffler. We are going to run new pipe from cat to muffler and out, eliminating the resonator. You guys have a 14" #11229, 18" 12259 and a 22" #12589. What's the difference? Sound? All of this is going on a 5.0, I want a deep rumble, no raspy and little drone in the cab. Is this possible with one of the mentioned mufflers? TIA

I would use some type of resonator, without it's probably going to be rasby and a lot of drone. I've been crazy busy with work so I still haven't got to my headers and exhaust. Hoping to get it done Memorial Day Weekend.

I'm still running the Magnaflow without a resonator and its very loud and the drone is pretty bad..

Mike

You want the 22”. It will sound a little tame at first but will get a little louder after a couple of months. It has almost no drone after settling in. The 18” will have more drone and volume.

I run a Flowmaster Outlaw with side exit's. Nice sounding rumble, but not overly loud in the cabin.
