87 vs 93 vs E85 on a 2108 5.0
Anyone actually put their stock 2018 5.0 trucks on a dyno to measure the power differences with different fuels? I realize it would be three different sessions, so would need to account for weather. If it hasn't been done I may go ahead and do it.
I'm curious what the OE systems can do to take advantage of better fuel. |
Would guess 10 more HP for 93, and 25HP over 87 for E85.

Depending on dyno i'd get 320-330 on 87, 330-340 on 93 and 340-360 on e85 depending how much the stock tune is actually allowed to add.

This would be tough....to be done right I think you'd want a full tank of 87 thru before running the 87 dyno, then a full tank of 93 thru before running the 93 dyno, then the same for e85. would be difficult to replicate atmospheric conditions after all that though.

Not only tough to do but expensive also. One of the only dynos near me charges $125 for 3 pulls during one session.
So you would be at $375 for a science fair project. Mike |

Go to one of the many dyno days where it's $50 for three pulls. At least you'd only be out $150 worse case..
