5 Star Tuning 85+ Adaptive Octane
Anyone have any experience with 5 Stars 85+ Adaptive Octane tune? If I understand things, it should adapt to the actual octane, which has advantages when dealing with changing octane fuels [either deliberate or due to it not being as expected] Also want to know if this will be better for really wide temperature swings as well. It's not unusual to see a nearly 100 degree swing in temps when traveling south.
I'd be looking for this for a 2018 3.5L Ecoboost with the 10 speed.
I'd also love for it to avoid boost in 9th and 10th, so I don't need to manually lock out anytime there is a slight incline. It was hard to tell if that's close to the behavior it'd get from their description, but it sort of sounds like something similar at least.

The Omega tune is spot on. Although i am not aware they do adaptive tunes for the ecoboosts. Not even sure they even tune for them.
85? As in e85? Was not aware ebs can run e85 either

Octane
No, 85 octane as in even crappier than 87 octane. 5 star does also have e30 and e50 tunes listed. The bulk are octane based. Another reason for specifically asking about 5 Star is they seem to be one of the few that have a warranty option.

I would like to hear some honest feedback on this myself specifically what company has the best reviews on flex-fuel or dedicated e85. Not a fan of paying inflated prices for 92/93 when I can filler up with 115 +/- octane that’s even cheaper than 87

I've been running Brew City Boosts and Gearheads adaptive tunes on my 2014 and have never had issues but I almost always run 91 Octane(91 is only $0.20 more than 85 here). On my Gearhead towing tune it is pretty much pegged at or near -1 LOR with on 91.
I do have 5Star's non-adaptive tunes as well and they appear very safe. Their 91 tow tune is by far the best towing tune I have and the KR and LOR seem to be pretty safe whenever I have watched them closely. It seems their timing tables are fairly conservative.
I would guess 5Star is probably just as good and safe.

The new 2nd gen 3.5 EB can run up to E50 I believe. The new 2.7 with port and direct injection can run E85.

I've been running 5 star tunes for about 6 years now and three different trucks, for my 19 3.5 I actually got their adaptive tune along with a fee other octanes spacific tunes. I use to inky tow with their perf/tow tunes but now I use the adjustable octane tune for towing, it's a great tune all around.

Adaptive Tune Info
Talked to 5 Star, and the adaptive octane tune is similar to the Performance / Tow tunes, but has better ability to pull timing as needed. They did mention that it may take longer to adapt up vs. just starting with a 93 specific tune.
I have one on order, so I'll update once I have more data.
