Long term reliability is the reason. The aftermarket either doesn't care about it or knowingly sacrifices it for a power edge. Also, the whole valvetrain really needs to be engineered as a system in order to make it last.
So I believe the Boss cams have more lift but the same duration on the intake side, the lift risking clearance issues and you would need to change springs all for barely any more gain over gt intake side. Now the baby cobra jet exhaust side cams look very interesting but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

[QUOTE=Brand;5468702]If you ignore the cost, how does the Mustang cam upgrade compare to the COMP Cam NSR supercharged

Don't know about the trucks, but I know a few people with 15+ mustangs and have not had to much success. Pretty much most of them went back to stock cam after not being able to get the car to run right. But on the flip side I have seen one or two guys that say their cars run good and got some gains. From what i have seen I would go with gt cam.

Do you have a Ford part number for the Mustang GT intake side cams?

anyone look at the custom cams from Ed Curtis for these trucks? Many of the fox body mustang guys I used to run with used his cams.

My truck came with 3.55s - I wanted 3.73s but couldn't find one without ordering. I may still decide later to go to 3.73s even though it's only one gear size. 4.10s pair with a supercharger I feel are going to be way too short in first on 32s. This is a quote from my tuner Ken Osborne - "3.55’s will work decently with a 32” tire, but I prefer 3.73’s with anything over 30”. 3.55’s work well for a 29-30” tire."

I agree I think with a supercharger a little taller gear is a better fit

Finally got mine to the track, but only got 1 decent pass.

1st pass for some reason the KR was going crazy and pulled 7 - 8 degrees the whole pass. 1.71 60', 12.96 @ 101 IAT out the back was 135ish.

2nd pass (no changes) got a 1.73 60', and a 12.29 @ 108, no KR this time, however starting IAT was 129 and 145 out the back.

I ran 3 more passes, the 60's were all in the 1.73 - 1.75 range however ET's were all over the place (between 12.4 - 13.4) but the logger flaked on each pass so I don't have a clue what it was doing.

On the way home I stopped at a local "test track" and made a hit with the IAT's in the 90's, and it was 8 tenths faster to 92 MPH, so it's definitely got an 11 in it, with the correct conditions...

I wasn't aware that FTI dealt with custom Coyote cams.

I've decided my next drag project will be a Coyote F-150.

Does anyone know the weight difference between a '11-'14 F-150 x-cab 2wd and a reg. cab 2wd with the same 6.5' box ? ( assuming the same options)

300 lbs ?
More ?

My neighbor has a nice '14 STX x-cab 2wd with the 5.0 for sale.
Priced right and I would have some extra cash to put a s/c on it vs. buying a new 2018
