Tried it today. Locked 4wd, adjusted the pedal commander to sport, and let it rip. Boy was I surprised. I was expecting it do what yours did but the rpm easily got to 2300-2400 rpm in an instant and when I launched the truck came out like murder. It reminded me of my old GMC Syclone. Ya know. Launching so hard it made ya dizzy for a split second.. No bog at all. Maybe the factory throttle control caused yours to do it but the pedal commander may have removed this in mine.
You’ll find out it’s not setup well for that, it’s limited to under 2k stall electronically, and then if you manage to not trip the throttle override for brake torquing, it cuts power briefly (torque management/ limiting) and bogs for half a second and then rips pretty good. Then shifts way too early, but they go pretty nice overall.

Just had a local shop install a full borla exhaust on my 5.0 and it sounds good. Had the pedal commander overnighted and put on a k&n cai. This thing def opened up. I launched it in 4×4 and destroyed my ecoboost off the line and don't even need the drag radials. With the tuner and bigger intercooler on the ecoboost I think it will run 12.8-13.1.. This 5.0 has got to run a 13.5-13.7 with just exhaust, cai, and pedal commander. Mostly because you can launch the sh^t out of it in 4×4. I'm able to pull 3 trucks from 0-20mph on my ecoboost. The ecoboosts went 14.0 stock and this 5.0 def gets to the quarter quicker now. I def can see the guy pulling 13.2 in the 18' rcsb now.

The only reason i am not getting a tune is so that if i ever take mine in for warranty work I don;t want to get denied. After the warranty is up, thats another story. Even if you change the tune back to stock before you take it in, they can tell the tune has been changed and they are looking for a reason to deny you warranty work, Which they now have.
So is this 5.0 naturally aspirated Ford more likely to break something tuned than an Audi? Perhaps, but I am going to do it anyway and stick with what I think is the more conservative and safer tuner, 5 star. I'm going to always run higher octane the loaded tune and see how she goes.

5 star offers warrantied tunes...
The F150’s are crazy tough, that said, fluke failures can happen, and they can cost serious money: get a warranty tune IMO. Very much an overdue idea in the tuning world.
