Im not trying to discourage anyone from getting one, but informed decision making is important. Me personally I’d be looking at a 2020 if I was on the market now but didn’t need one ASAP....this would be in the hopes Ford does some updates to resolve the current issues with the 18 models.

the gen 2’s have proven reliable and can still support 800hp, and conveniently they come with the slightly larger oil pump gear that was in the 15-17 mustangs.

I just test drove a 2016 F150 Platinum whippled, and to be honest I wasn't as impressed I thought I would be. Yes, it was fast, but not enough difference to spend $10k+ to get. The 5.0 sounded really good too. It's still for sale in the Las Vegas craigslist if anyone is interested.

There is a lot of money in that truck. Seat covers, Tires and Wheels, Whipple, Traction bars and front Grille add up in a hurry.

I guarantee you he has less than 42K into it. It's an XL single cab and he's a manager at a Ford dealership
