I was hoping I could just unbolt it and the fuel filler and slide it over to the passengers side some or hold it up with a 2x4

The fuel pump looks like its at the back under the bed and not under the cab

(the left tank is a standard and the right is a 36 gallon like I have)

The instructions you posted said it needed to be removed. The clearance is close and a very good chance of banging it up if you don't. Not saying it can't be done though.

It ended up being easier to drop the tank (I'm working alone with just floor jacks in my garage)

I only figured that out after unbolting the bed and trying a bunch of ways to get it to lift.

As Mike pointed out: super easy to damage something that way

Would I be smart to order a new OE pump and have it fit and ready to go with the DW400?

I did mainly to get the flow rates testing so we know what it flows inside our trucks.

But its super easy to install yourself in the fuel pump assembly

No. Once you pull the assembly you’ll see how the oem pump is clipped in. Remove it and you’ll see what you need to do to fit the new pump. It’s literally a 30 second mod with a pair of side cutters.

Here is the DW400 flow numbers inside the OEM fuel pump housing tested at the voltage commanded by the Whipple tune (it ramps up for the fuel demand)

Before the internal check valve is installed

Here is After the internal check valve is installed

that bigger fitting at the front of the tank (bottom of the photo), do I need a special tool to remove that? I’m having a hell of a time disconnecting it and I’m trying not to break anything so I do t want to pry too hard. I believe that’s the Evap line.
