2018 CAI, Ported Mani, Tune & E85 Dyno test
Re-posting from something I found. Interesting read.
Air Flow Solutions - Dec 25, 2018
2018 5.0 GUYS! THE RESULTS ARE IN and I have to say I am not disappointed with the results. Thanks to Bret Barber and OZ Tuning for getting the parts to me with fairly short notice.
Disclaimer: This is the closest apple to apples comparison that I could produce. All pulls were done on the same truck, same dyno, same day, within 2 hours start to finish. All pulls are SAE corrected and done in 5th gear. Ambient temp changed by about 15*(low 40's at start and upper 50's and the end). Coolant temps were in the low 190's for the first pull of each round. 2 pulls were made for each round of mods. The second pull was made IMMEDIATELY(less than 1 minute) after the first and the LOWEST power number was used for each round. Yes the LOWEST so these are conservative(heat soaked) numbers which makes it even more impressive IMO.

THE RESULTS: In total 10 pulls were made. The only modification to the truck before being strapped to the dyno was an MBRP side exit catback, other than that the truck was stock down to the paper filter.
The numbers reflect the following...
Round 1: Stock = 318whp/338wtq
Round 2: Stock+S&B CAI(No Tune)= 333whp/347wtq
Round 3: Stock+S&B CAI+ported stock truck manifold and TB(No Tune) = 348whp/366wtq
That is a gain of 30whp and 28wtq for less than $600 and you keep your warranty intact!
Round 4: Above mods + OZ Omega tune W/ 91 Octane = 363whp/374wtq
Round 5: Above mods + OZ Omega tune(10 gal E85 mixed with 3-4 gallons of 91 so probably only E60 ish) = 378whp/385wtq.
TOTAL GAINED: 60whp/47wtq
My Impressions: Over all I am super happy with the results. My goal was 50whp/35wtq on true E85 and it exceeded that on roughly E60 fuel. I am sure there is another 5-10whp with proper E85 in the tank. The truck is completely different on the street and I thoroughly enjoy the driving experience. Considering the ease of the mods and the low cost I have to say this is a very worth while investment.

Just to be clear, this is a re-post - Not my truck, but I was planning on this setup, and this report means I am copying this setup exactly.
it also strongly suggests some BS on some of the claimed horsepower gains from tuning IMO.
