Bummer. Guess I'll be waiting on this for a while. $250 tune update fee is LAME.

I was told way back before these kits shipped that you only had to pay for the hardware as long as you paid for the tune with the kit originally. All future cal updates were included in the staged upgrades for free.

Looks like that changed...

I wouldn't be quite as annoyed if they actually had my original tune dialed in. Current file is way better than before, but still have some weird transmission flare moments.

In 30 more days they will have a new reworked transmission strategy.

Does the Stage 1 kit come with the small heat exchanger or the large heat exchanger?

Good...I still notice some odd transmission behavior on modest throttle. Nothing as bad as it was, still not right. I would like better manual control of shifts too, doubtful we will see that though, Currently manually shifting has very long delays and a lot of flair.

On the mustang, they were too cramped for space to keep the old geometry so they flipped the blower and put the intercooler on top. That’s why it gets the gen 5 blower. I don’t get the idea that Whipple was thrilled about flipping the assembly, so I’m guessing that’s why they didn’t on the truck. The flipped assembly is more complicated with more leak points.
Thanks for info. I'm also trying to find out if the heads on the Mustang are higher flow and are the cams on the Mustang allowing higher revs?

Original kits (both stage 1 and 2) all shipped with the small single pass LTR.

Now all kits ship with the larger dual pass LTR.

The F150s can turn the same rpm that the mustangs do, whipple purposely sets the shift points low on the f150 to protect the engine.

Any thoughts on the valvetrain? I don't feel like I'm floating valves on mine at 7300 rpm, but I'm still curious if there are differences from the mustang. My 92 Taurus SHO could have spun 8500, but was limited to 7000 due to accessory problems. Hoping everything the belt touches is rated for it. In the end I know I gotta pay to play
