just goes to show there are lot of factors at play. if one likes to drive their truck in the top half of fhe reg range, the 5.0 is great. would be neat to throw 8k lbs behind them and do this. also neat to keep revs under 3k rpm all the way and see how they perform as i can recall on one hand the times Ive ever gone full throttle in an eco since u dont need to.

Can't really do a drag comparison without know what rear end is in each truck. Why is that never mentioned when doing these types of comparisons?

So is the crack in the road a quarter mile?

What does less than 3k rpm have to do with it? It was a drag race. The whole idea being who crosses the line first.

Agree. I don't really care which is faster, but I call bs on all of these videos. If you really want to know which is faster, the first thing to do is go with the assumption that someone would configure each in it's fastest configuration from the factory. Which ever rear gear is faster for each model (not same gear for each). Best readily available fuel for best power (93 E-15 for the ECO and E-85 for the 5.0). Same tires and wheels set at the same pressures. Both exactly the same for all other options. Each run in whatever mode produces the quickest time for that motor. If you don't do that, you will never truly know which is faster in a stock factory available configuration. Of course, the biggest challenge would be finding someone who actually cared enough to do it for real instead of racing with a spec sheet and keyboard.

Then again, are you testing which motor is quickest or are you testing which stock 150 is quickest? If the motor a simple side by side on a dyno with best fuel will tell. If testing trucks then the first challenge will be finding a 3.5eco regular cab short bed 2wd. But wait, are we testing at sea level or Bandimere?

Nevermind. Probably best to just keep bashing each other here and getting all butt hurt anytime someone makes a different choice.

I agree with mikeinatlanta. Also, no 3.5 EB in RCSB.
I think the 5.0 RCSB XL would be fastest overall.

I bought/own a truck for a lot of reasons. The only thing I never considered was which was the fastest on the drag strip.

I can honestly say I really don't care.

FWIW he did say they were identical trucks except for the engines so i'm thinking both trucks had the same gear ratio!!!No wander the 5.0 truck won the first race in 2wd the Eco Boost spun the tires for how long!!!

Looks like they are equal on the strip.
3.5 for max tow.
5.0 for longevity.
