Default 2018 10 speed 4.10s?

I know most of you with 35s need more gear to keep things rolling.

From a performance perspective with stock 32” tires and wheels, is going from the 3.55s to 4.10s a good thing?

I have looked at rpm differences. With 10 speeds it is minimum.

Thanks for the feedback.

if youre on stock tires, no, i wouldnt bother. The 1st gear is steep enough already with 3.55’s, and the gear spacing is close enough that it basically negates difference in rear gear.

The 10 speed is better suited to the 3:55. In no way shape nor form would I spend 2k to go to 4:10 gears on a stock tire or even a 33 inch tire. The cost verses performance benefit is not worth it unless you are going with 35inch or bigger tires.

As other have said. The 10 speed 1st gear ratio is 4.69. Compare that to the 6r80 that was incredibly low at 4.17. We used to think the 700r4 had a low 1st gear at 3.06. The aod was used for quite a while and was 2.40, later upgraded to 2.84, behind engines that didn’t have nearly the gusto as current ones.
