2017 Lariat SCrew Build Thread (Procharger 5.0)

RTS,
Excellent i enjoyed reading it.
Question i recently traded my 15 Lariat 3.5 eco for a 16 Platinum 5.0 . I enjoyed the ecoboost alot and now im missing that take off speed at the start. i do not go to the track or go 4x4. but i miss the quick throttle responds of the ecobosst. on the Procharge i would love to do this but do not have that funds. What would you recommend for under $1500 . also loud exhaust sound i do not like. if changing the exhaust i would almost want something no louder then stock . Also why did you go with the Icons over Fox and F150boss. i looking to do the same i want a smooth ride better then stock
thanks

A few updates today.
I finally gave in to the temptation to mess with exhaust. I have held off this long because I didn't want to sacrifice too much of the quiet ride in the cab. I don't have easy access to an exhaust shop or the time to custom build a system right now, so I was looking for something off the shelf for a little more character and sound when I press on the loud pedal. Based on reviews and videos, it seemed like the Magnaflow 19054 kit would fit the bill, and I love the look of the Lightning-style dual exit before the rear tire.
I got it on in about an hour last weekend. Here is a cold start video and one showing mild acceleration and the noise in the cab (note: all of the ambient noise in the video is the exhaust even though it may sound like tire noise or wind).
It sounds really good, a nice deep tone. But, it is pretty loud in the cab. Not totally surprising considering the resonator delete, muffler sitting under the cab, and where the tips are. Cruising down the highway at 70 mph and 2000 rpm (4.10 gears) it borders on discomfort, which is hard to justify on a brand new truck that I drive about 40 miles on the highway every day.
So...in the last few days I have found someone to buy the Magnaflow and I have ordered a Borla S-Type kit. Exhaust is a tricky thing to buy based on reviews and videos. From everything you see online, you'd think the Magnaflow kit I have is mild and quiet compared to the S-Type, but while the Borla may have the ability to be louder under throttle, I am banking on the presence of a resonator and the exhaust exiting at the rear of the truck making it quieter inside, while still having a wild side.
Stay tuned for some results of the swap in the next few days.

One more note to add about exhaust, above. I am trying not to think too much about flow in the context of the overall system. The Magnaflow probably flows quite a bit more than the stock system and has less back pressure, which may not be the greatest thing for my application. I am considering the Borla system coming soon to be closer to stock, i.e., essentially a single 3" at stock length. Either way, since I am not messing with headers right now, I am trying to keep it simple.

I saw these panels on IG the other night and I was almost instantly sold - they look so cool. These are from Built Right Industries. They bolt onto the factory box link points and it lets you keep all box link functionality as is. You can then bolt Quick Fist mounting points to these panels (or anything else you can think of). They are rock solid.

1. The Corsa Sport appears to keep the factory resonator in place, which uses 2.5" piping. I wanted to get rid of that and have 3" all the way through the muffler. The Borla kit uses a 3" resonator.
2. This is from the Corsa copy on the American Muscle site (emphasis mine):
RSC™ Technology. Corsa designs their muffler using their own patented Reflective Sound Cancellation® Technology (RSC™) to give your 5.0L F-150 an aggressive sound under acceleration and a drone-free experience while cruising. You may exhibit some drone under towing conditions.
That last sentence is enough to scare me off, especially after my experience with this Magnaflow. Borla beats you over the head with the assertion that theirs doesn't drone under any circumstances.
