The 4.10s are going to show a slightly lower number on the stock tires but would still be interesting as that's prob the gear you would want in a street/strip setup.

And seeing how much power is lost in comparison through the heavy 34s would be a good learning experiencing. Since no one ever really does that.

also, this is BA. I wish we had more threads like this! Nice truck!
I've thought about this. I have been trying to sell my (new) factory wheels and tires, but for now I still have them. I do have access to a dyno where I know the guys well enough this would be a possibility, but yes, a total PITA. It would be very cool to see how much power is lost with the large tires; here's a tip - it will be somewhere between a f***load and s***ton.

The last big mod to date is the Raptor steering wheel.

2017 Lariat SCrew Build Thread (Procharger 5.0)-bcl8jq2.jpg

Getting the paddles working is still a WIP due to some issues with 2017 wiring changes at the SCCM connection. Big thanks to the guys over on the Raptor Wheel thread for help in getting this resolved. I am waiting for some new pins in the mail, so as soon as those come in I will update. For now, the wheel itself is on and it is AWESOME. Huge upgrade in feel over the Lariat wheel. This mod is relatively inexpensive and highly recommended. I was always very unsure of the red stripe, but I have to admit it is growing on me. Dying it black/gray is always an option, but I am leaving it for now. It is actually kind of cool seeing it peeking out of the windshield when looking at the front of the truck.

Also, for those unfamiliar, this wheel is heated and you can transfer your existing buttons over to the new wheel, so no loss or changes in functionality (other than the shifting paddles).

Awesome build! I've got a very similar build and I'm currently debating on whether or not to regear or go back to a 32" tire. Just got my harness for raptor wheel now need to order wheel!

Quick update:

The Raptor wheel is now fully functional. I think it has been determined that the C226 connector at the SCCM was changed for 2017 only for floor shifter trucks. Once I had the correct pins everything came together nicely. Nothing like a little modding R&D. You can see all of the details over on the Raptor wheel thread and those guys will take care of you!

Also, we finally got the shift points pretty dialed in on the truck, so the tuning with the Procharger is "done" for now. It's making 9.5 psi now shifting at 6600, and has no problem lighting up the 34's from a 20mph 1st gear punch. It sounds stupid to mention spinning tires in a 600 hp pickup, but as you know these off road tires are sooooo heavy they suck up the torque. I'm hoping to get it on a dyno soon. I'm still toying with the idea of a smaller pulley for 10-10.5 psi and/or raising the shift points, though I feel like 6600 is a comfortable spot for a DD truck.

Thanks man! Yeah, I hear you. Even after a regear, I could see myself going back to a smaller tire someday. As mentioned above, the big tires just suck so much power. My truck runs pretty dang good, but sometimes I get the feeling that I needed the blower just to overcome the extra rolling mass. I have to keep reminding myself it's a 4-door 4x4 truck and not a Mustang, and I love the way it looks...

Awesome build man.
Did you ever figure out what was clunking in the rear?

Thank you!
Yes!! - I think...

I went back and checked and the torque spec on the shock bolts is like 66 ft-lbs. I think I had it in my mind at the time it was closer to 30.

60+ ft-lbs is pretty tight, so I went back and torqued everything a few days ago and so far the noise is gone. It seems like there are several cases around where other things are clunking, but for mine this seems to have solved it.

Awesome build! Keep us NA 5.0 guys posted on your dyno numbers. I just bought a 17' with the 5.0 a few weeks ago myself. Only mods I've done so far are wheel well liners, weathertechs and window tint. I'm coming from a tuned 14' EcoBoost so to me this stock 5.0 is somewhat of a slouch. I'm looking at some options but I don't see anything out there besides a SC setup that is going to give me anywhere near the power of my old EB. Don't have the money for a SC nor do I anticipate having it for quite some time. I'm thinking something along the lines of the BOSS 302 intake, JLT CAI and Corsa exhaust for now. Then a SCT tuner when they "crack the codes" on the 17' 5.0. Hopefully with those mods I will see 75-80HP gain and will be somewhat comparable to my 14'. Keep up the good work!

Why did you go from a 3.5EB to a NA 5.0?

Work truck or personal choice? What rear end is in the 5.0?
