On my 2 GM vehicles I thought it was perfect. It they both had the 6.2L. I want an aggressive rumble when I get on it but I don't want to listen to a bunch of racket inside the cab that I can't get rid of. The Borla to me sounds crazy loud. Even at idle it sounds like the exhaust system is yelling at me. Are you not a fan of the factory resonator from a sound standpoint or because you feel the 2.5" piping is robbing some power??
I think it's really tough to equate online clips to reality for exhaust. Yes the Borla sounds loud, but everyone that has it says it's not bothersome when cruising. Same as you, I don't want incessant noise in the cab when I am not on the gas hard.

I want the 3" piping for flow since I'm supporting 600+ hp.

I did some work in Mexico today and took this on the way home. 1st and 2nd gear right off idle with the Magnaflow. You can see it's making just over 10 lbs.

I got the Borla S-Type exhaust installed and the dual tips adjusted (no small feat, by the way). All is good now and I love the new setup. It is plenty aggressive, but very quiet in the cab, almost like stock until heavy acceleration.

Default Dyno Numbers

I finally got on the dyno last night. 10 psi, 91 octane (93 is scarce here), and we shut it down at 6600 rpm, even though, I'm sure most of you know that it will keep pulling well above 7000. Also, numbers include a carseat strapped in the back seat.

532hp / 452ft-lb to the tire.

I'm not sure what the accepted number is for driveline loss on these trucks, but I have seen 20-25%. Regardless it is flirting with 700 hp at the flywheel.

The torque curve comes up near peak around 3500-4000 and stays flat allllll the way through to peak hp.

These videos include my new Borla cat-back, which I am loving. The balance of the exhaust is stock.

Wow beautiful truck. I must say you really got some skills. Did you have to do any trimming when you put those tires on?

Some very minor trimming on a couple spots on the inner fenders. It will also lightly rub on the crash bars in certain situations.

I have a '16 5.0 and installed my s-type recently, and I must say I love it. It's quiet when cruising but when you get on it, it really comes to life. That's a nice ride you got there! I want want to install a procharger pretty bad, but not sure how my wife would react to me dropping $6300 and then another 500-700 on a tune. Anyway, looking good!
