I'm wondering what the limit of the factory ECU tuning capabilities are when it comes to tuning for 6-8lbs of boost. I'm keeping it mild until I can afford forged connecting rods, pistons and upgraded valve springs. I'm going to keep my redline set at stock until I make these upgrades.

Does anyone have any knowledge how the 3 valve 5.4 responds to boost? I believe my original motor was replaced with a newer model years engine due to the original blowing up. I believe the previous owner said it was replaced with an '07 engine. I'm curious to find out what connecting rods my block has.

Factory ECU has minimal tuning capabilities. Have you looked into something like HPTuners or a megasquirt standalone setup?

I'm afraid to because of the cost to be honest....lol. But a long block isn't cheap either....

The better your engine management, the longer you can make stock components last with a good tune by a good tuner.
