Shoot me an email and I can discuss the process with you.

Placed my order. I think I have now officially started my spiral into mods. I had just installed the VSS (for remote start) a few days ago. The wife is eyeing me with concern.

Default Sync 3 upgrade Bracket Problem

Note: I’ve got a 2015 F-150. I just received my sync 3 upgrade kit and the brackets with my sync 2 don’t match up with the sync 3. Any suggestions? Or has everyone been modifying the brackets? @watson-tech, do you sell brackets that could fix this issue?

Update to original post: I did not purchase this from Watson-Tech; however, they are helping me get this all sorted out.

See pictures. The 2nd and 3rd images are held up against the factory sync 2. The 4th and 5th are held up against the new sync 3.

Left and right brackets

Held flush against sync 2

Being held against sync 2. Note the space between the tab and the screen

Holding flush against sync 3. The tab prevents me from seating the bracket flush towards the front, but even if the tab was removed, the holes still don’t line up.

Sync 3

Should bolt up.
He will take care of you, you shouldn't need to buy anything.

Oh, if you didn't buy it from Watson tech, I'm sure he'll still help you and sell you the brackets

Did you purchase that kit from me? I don't have a recent order that seems to align.

It looks like you have a recessed screen from the pictures I can see. You need a flat screen for 2015 F150. So the two options are to modify the brackets or have the seller send the right screen to you.

If you can send a full picture of just the screen or the part number I can tell you if it is recessed. 18B955-SC is recessed. SA and SB are flat.

Thank you Watson Tech! Got the SYNC 3 w/Nav installed tonight by the light of a flashlight, and it looks great! Now I'm waiting for one of the wireless Android Auto adapters to become available so I don't have to use a cable. Motorola Sound MA1, Carsifi, or AAwireless.

Just did sync 3 conversion today. Got it done in just under hour 45 mins. I had to go look for a torx 8 out in the barn and some double sided tape. Other than that It was a smooth install. It was done on a 2015 Ford 150 platinum. Very easy to do. Great price and communication. I can’t believe some sellers charge more than twice the price for the same parts. If you are on the fence about it trust me it’s an amazingly easy install for the right price.

Great to hear! I ordered mine last weekend for a 2015 as well. I take it you had to swap brackets?
