Smartphone Remote Start / Viper

Up for sale is a device that will allow you to lock/unlock and remote start your F-150. Use with iOS and Android. You must already have factory remote start either Push to Start or Key. I will need to know which.

This is made by Directed and is sold as "SmartStart". It will require you to connect 6 wires. 5 are on the back of the OBD2 plug (connected to Gateway module) and the other is ground which is at the same general location. Easy!

I will send you what you see in the picture. The subscription is active until 2/3/17

I will guide you through it, very easy.

I will ship for $150.00, the Ford solution is over double this and this comes with one year of service!

This is strictly the SmartStart feature correct? As in not an additional car alarm?

How is this different from the Ford Remote Access Unit?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean but as far as functionality they are essentially the same in fact the RMU looks to be the same manufactuer which is Directed.

I think one of the key differences is, my unit isn't plug and play. You have to tap in to 5 wires behind the OBD2 plug unless you can find a T-Harness online and use it. I don't see this as an issue, just strip back, solder if possible and tape up.

The other difference is price, Ford 3X the price as this one and that doesn't even include the subsciption.

OK, $100 shipped. I can't believe this hasn't been scooped up.
