Staying with standard 2.4 or 4.2 display just means the cluster will still use the four analog gauges above the two large lower gauges. Going with 8 in display means using 4 digital gauges. There is no advantage or disadvantage to either, just looks and choice/preference.

Actually there is an advantage when moving up to the 8" screen. You get the boost gauge, which isn't available in lower versions, also get more user screens. The biggie for me at least is that without the 8" screen some of the other mods to the truck are not possible.

Boost would come into play only for ecoboost engined trucks, not if you have 5.0. Yes, agree, more screens that monitor stuff that you can look at. However, from a perspective of performance and driveability, you are not gaining anything that is required... More screens means more potential distraction for the driver. Too much info for most people might cause more distraction while driving. The old adage, KISS, Keep it simple stupid, still holds true for most people.

You can also turn on the boost gauge with Forscan to monitor boost on Whippled trucks, probably can on Roush too. The label is wrong and it doesn't have a graduation, still good thing to know that your indeed making boost.

For extensive monitoring I have these Banks gauges I throw on the steering column. I'll admit I don't run them all the time thought. Most of the time after I make another mod and want to monitor certain parameters.

Boost gauge works for super chargers installed on the 5.0L also; I've done several for guys with Whipples.

Edit: OCMike beat me to this

Ah, ok. Thank you all for the responses. Sounds like the 4" is just prettier. I will save my pennies for the 8". Thanks.

Default 8" cluster is awesome

The 8" cluster is the best money I have spent yet on my truck. It really makes driving so much more enjoyable. I can monitor everything and plus the digital speedometer is great.

Received my 2016 cluster today and could not be more happier. Dave’s communication is the best there is. The cluster took 10 min to instal and everything worked. Thanks again.
