The 8" cluster uses the same factory connector as the 2"/4.2" clusters so it just plugs in without any additional wiring. The options you see on the screen are programmed to it and I have no idea if the off road screen would work on a 2WD but you could try yourself with FORScan and see after it's installed.

I'm lowering the price on all 2018 8" clusters I have to $575 total including all programming & shipping. I currently have 7 of these 2018 8" clusters and they will work fine in a 2017 also

The vertical gear tree won't display correctly when using select shift if you put an '18 in a '16.

the "off road" still shows if you have 2wd and will show the locker if you have that. I think it was the power distribution tab gave me a dtc that you can clear but will keep coming back also didn't seem to do anything. so changing that to 2wd will remove the power distribution tab.
