quick oil drain valve

I change my oil a couple of time a year, and this small gadget helps me save my time a lot. Install it next time you change the oil if you like. I found and bought one at www.QwikValve.com

Cheers,

Cheers,

I am very anal about my oil change. to me, I drain as much old oil as possible. that means i leave my truck draining over night. with that plug, it looks like it adds a few MM to the drain hole which might trap old oil behind.

how do you get the oil filter out and the new one in? have an 03 5.4 super crew.

Don't have your engine, heard of guys going at it from the top. One guy even takes off his front tires to lower it down for better access.

I just changed my oil last week. Decided to go with Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W20, and switched to a Purolator PureONE oil filter. I'm planning on extending the oil & filter interval to 7500 miles/12mths whichever comes first. What are your opinions on that? (I know most of you guys who do the 3-5k interval will start flaming! :walkman: LOL!)

Anyway, I have a question. On most vehicles, when you change the oil, it's normal practice, and recommended to replace the drainplug washer. As this was my first oil change on the F150, I saw that the drainplug came with a built-in rubber gasket, so I just reused it. How long is this gasket/drainplug good for? When do you all recommend to replace the drainplug? It shouldn't cost that much I guess, I'd like to get a spare one for the next oil change.

Oh, it was awkward to access the oil filter btw! And the last person over-tightened it which didn't help. Don't know if it's the same with giantstwo's 03 5.4L, but I did it from underneath, didn't jack the truck up, just slid in...was pretty tight clearance considering the truck rides that high!

I own a 94 F150, 2wd with a manual transmission. It has a 4.9L V6 with 161,000 miles on it. I was wondering what kind of oil i should put in it because i dont have the service manual. What is factory recemended and personally recemended by you guys?
