Weird scraping noise when going from reverse to forward
I just bought a 2018 F150, 4x4, 2.7L V6, the ecoboost. 45k miles on it at the moment. Not even 12 hours after buying it, I took it back to the dealership because check engine light came on. It was some kind of Evap valve saying it was stuck open. Got that taken care of. Starting that morning though, I realized this scraping sound whenever I backed up out of my spot and then put it in reverse. At first it sounded like maybe wheels rubbing but the next time, I rolled my window down to listen better and realized it's definitely a mechanical sound. It doesn't happen when I just drive forward or turn or anything else - I'm only hearing it when I put it in reverse and then go forward. So i'm hearing it a lot in my parking lot while maneuvering a tight fit to back into a spot. It's also most prominent right when I crank the truck in the morning and transmission temp is cold. After it heats up, I barely notice it.
I suspect it's some sort of transmission issue since it's happening while changing gears. The truck also wants to lurch forward when i first put it into drive again after backing in and i'm leaving.
Can anyone help me out here?
