Default Warranty/service Advice

So my 2012 f-150 v6 had a new engine installed on April 27 2016. I took it in today to find out the timing chain is bad. Warranty is 3 years so I知 5 weeks out of warranty. Any suggestions to get help from Ford?

5 weeks out is not that far. Would they (the dealer) be willing to work with you and cover at least part of the repair?

I知 waiting to hear back but they already prepared me by saying they may only pay a portion. I was wondering if there are certain steps or contacts to be made to to try to get it 100% covered?

there is no sure fire way to make sure they pay 100% i would just talk to the service manager about it.

I agree!
probably NOT going to get 100% coverage but the dealership MAY be able to goodwill part of it, especially if they were the ones that sold you the replacement engine.
try to schedule an appointment to talk to the Svc Mgr, not an advisor. No mater how upset you are about the situation, BE NICE! I知 not saying that you aren稚 but sometimes we all (even myself), tend to get heated. They may want to help you but have their hands tied. All you can do it try!
