Default F-150 Trans fluid service

What is the best mileage interval for this service. Is it better to have them hook up to the machine and do the fluid flush/exchange, or drop the pan and perform the service. thank you.

I had my 2016 6-speed serviced around 70,000 miles. I think Ford says 150,000.
I asked them to drop the pan, they did.

Depending on what you are driving your results may vary. Also depends on how you use your truck. Mine isn't a hauler or workhorse. If you're towing your 8,000lb RV across the country all summer you should be changing it sooner.

Did they change the filter? I installed a pan with drain plug in it and did the filter at 150,k. It looked good but I've babied the truck, no towing.

It's in your manual. Flushing is not needed, or recommended.

Anyone ever send off a sample of their trans fluid to a lab for analysis, with 100k or less on the clock, and come back with a result suggesting it needs changing?

It depends on the YEAR the truck was built, and the transmission model. Put ALL the truck's details & history into your signature so we don't have to guess, ask, or go looking again:

My 2018 is at 53K and I want to have the pan dropped and filter changed. I know I sure be able to trust the local Ford dealer but when they did the first oil change on my 2015, 2.7 liter they put in 7 quarts not the 6 quarts of oil. Blew oil all over the engine compartment and my new garage floor. I know changing trans is beyond my scope. Son wants to buy my 2018 when my 21 comes in. OH boy... working up the courage to have it done.
