Default 2013 F150 XLT Ecoboost AC/Electric Fan Issue

I live in South Louisiana where it's consistently in the mid/high 90F's with 65% or higher humidity in the summer. Last summer my AC didn't seem to be blowing as cold as usual so I added some 134A with dye to see if there was a leak but didn't find anything. The AC blew cooler but I noticed the electric fan started coming on when I stopped in traffic and went off after I started moving again. I had never noticed the fan coming on before I added Freon. The fan sounds like a helicopter taking off so it's annoying and people take notice in neighboring vehicles but I lived with it.

It's hot again and my unit is only reaching 58F air temperature at the vent on MAX so I put the gauges on to check everything out. Outside temp was 89F with 55% humidity. The suction side (low side) was 37 psig and the discharge side (high side) was 225 psig. Everything I read says suction pressure should run 45 - 55 psig and 250 psig on the discharge at 90F so I added some 134A. The electric fan immediately came & wouldn't go off. Air temperatures at the vent went up to 65F & gauge pressures were high and would never level off. I "let some refrigerant out" until suction pressure reached around 37 psig and the system is performing as before.

I bought the truck new, and as I said before, the fan never came on until I started screwing around with the AC system. Have I overcharged the system and the fan is coming on to try to reduce the system pressure? Where should the system pressure readings be at 90F? Should I disconnect the fan to stop it from running while I'm checking the pressures as it appears to prevent the compressor from cycling properly?

I'm considering evacuating the system, check/repair any leaks, and recharge with the recommended amount of 24 ounces of 134A and 3.4 ounces of PAG46 oil. Anyone else have other suggestions?

Thanks - Mike
