using oil
seen a post a while back about losing oil i bought a 4.6 xlt 4X4 5 months ago with 36000 and noticed at about 1000 miles it was down a quart now the last 3 weeks i have been driving it out of town everyday that another 1000 miles i am a quart low again ford dealer tells me this is normal i have owned ford trucks for 20 years this isn't normal to because i have never had to add oil between oil changes before maybe a 1/2 quart in my 88 but that had 100k and the vlave cover gasket leaked i don't quite know what to think really bummed out because if there is a problem i'm sure it won't show up until after the waranty is up any tips
Some Ford dealers do not know the difference between normal and common. My 83 had the common problem of the brake pedal creeping down under pressure, the dealer said that it was normal. I replaced the master cylinder and fixed the problem, the creeping brake pedal is common on those years of truck and is caused by an internal leak in the master cylinder. You do not lose any fluid but the pedal will slowly creep to the floor while stopped at a light or stop sign for any length of time.
