Default Truck wont start

Left work today and my 2004 f150 only cranked over and would not start. I put some starter fluid in it and it fired right up. Appears no gas is getting to motor. Any help would be appreciated. Could this be a security issue or I have read about a fuel pump module that fails where the spare tire is. Please any help.

You're on the right track with the fuel pump. Have you checked the fuel pump fuse, or the reset that is in the passengers side kick plate by the door? Also there is a fuel filter under the truck in the frame rail below the drivers seat. It could be clogged.

Turned out to be the fuel pump module. Thanks for the reply.
