You need 2 people. one to hold the pedal down the other to crack the bleed screw down at the slave cyl. It will take a few pumps and cracks to get all the air out. Refill reservoir. Test several shifts and bleed once more and refill. If throw out brg is bad clutch will not disengage and you pull trans and do a clutch job, replacing it and the slave cyl at that time + throwout brg..

You might have better luck getting a reply if you start your own thread. You said it "seems" to go into neutral when accelerating. You mean the engine just revs and you don't go anywhere, or it doesn't accelerate as quickly as it should? How many gear changes do you count when you accelerate from a stop to highway speeds?

I had to replace a master cylinder on a '92 Sierra, and I was able to "bleed" the system by pumping the clutch with the cap off what seemed to be hundreds of time. lol. I was stuck and had to try to do it myself. Maybe I got lucky, maybe there was no air in the system in the first place. Who knows...The above is definitely the easier way.

[QUOTE=papa tiger;1340475]If your pedal has a lot of free play it isn't pumping enough fluid down to the hyd slave cylinder to disengage the clutch. It could be adjustment or the clutch master cylinder stuck and not working properly. Just replace the master cyl for the clutch and bleed it to the slave cyl bleed. Adjust free play and bleed it again, you should be good now.

Harbor Freight has a much smaller version much less expensive, for economic reasons if interested.
