Transmission Problem
I have a 2007 F-150 SC 4x2 with a 4.6 engine. It has nearly 180K miles and up till today ran great. I was about 25 miles from home doing around 65mph when the OD-Off light came on and the tranny fault warning started flashing. I stopped to do a restart to see if that would clear it. The fluid was up on the stick and there wasn’t any burnt smell. The restart didn’t help and the truck would barely move. I was able to finally get it up to speed and made it home. I saw tranny fluid on the ground and I have a tranny coolant line leaking. Could this have caused the extreme slipping? Second question, does anyone know the size and length of the coolant lines? Also do they have a double flare line or is it compression?
Thanks,
Thanks,

If it's slipping that bad i'd say the clutches are shot and it will need rebuilt. Once the slipping begins it usually torches the clutches pretty quick.

Would that happen all of a sudden? I had no problem before this. I also got a OBD 720 code on the way home. I haven't rebuilt a tranny since around '66 or so. Anyone do one recently?
