Default Too much $$$?

So I stopped by a local transmission shop and got a quote for changing both diff's fluids, transfer case and complete tranny flush. Got quoted ~$500.00.
Seem about right? I know these are all DIY projects but right now I don't have the time or space...keep in mind I'm in Canada, seems everything costs more here

I don't buy tranny flushes at all- least of all from independent shops. Dealer tranny service.

I think otherwise that's a fair price though, even in canadian money.

The cheapest quote I got on mine was $700 here in texas. The dealer wanted $950. $500 seems fair to me if they actually do it. make sure they actually hook up their fancy machine to swap the fluid out and that they're not just doing a quick drain and fill.

How important is it to get the actual transmission flush? Will doing just a transmission fluid change be good enough?

When they just do a drain and fill, they're just pulling the drain plug, pan, swapping the filter and gasket, and replacing the exact amount they took out. That leaves a ton, most of it, still in the torque converter and transmission itself along with all the metal shavings and junk.
