Default Spray on metal Protector

Seen a post either here on the forum or Facebook someone complained how their brand new truck has started to rust. So I wanted to give the new re formulated AMSOIL metal protector a try. I'll go check it out in a few months. It took 2 cans to do most of the truck. http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produc...200&zo=1667299

I’m all coated and ready for the salt. Bring it! For $12 a can you can’t go wrong.

I am coated with Fluid Film. I did two vehicles with a gallon and have enough left over to probably do a third.

I kept a motorcycle outdoors in wet Washington weather in great shape by using Boesheild, a product by Boeing. Marine places are a good resource as well.

Mine has held up so well.

Top - first winter after I bought truck. Not treated at all.
Bottom - after being cleaned up and treated by Amsoil. 2nd winter of snow and salt.

Olde thread, but still useful.
How would this stuff work over an already tight rusted surface. Last summer, I did a lot of work on the frame, suspension, and box of my Ranger. Did everything with rust converter and POR15. Both worked like garbage. I'll never waste my money on POR15 again, even with a topcoat, rust came back within 3 months.

I would paint over the rust 1st. Then apply the metal protector over the new paint.

Likely with something like Rustoleum? That stuff is even better than POR15. I'd think the metal protector would protect it as well?
