since the problem seems to go away when the front DS is out, per shop, I am thinking about calling them this morning to see if they will let me take the truck back until the part shows up. right now I am driving the shop owners daily driver but would much rather have my truck.

Yeah it shouldn't damage anything to drive your truck around without the front DS. Just don't put it in 4x4.

Tom Woods front drive shaft was installed yesterday afternoon. So far it seems to have fixed the problem.

Interesting. Wonder what the problem ended up being... Obviously it was in the front driveshaft if the custom one fixed it, but I'm curious why the factory one didn't cut it.

Supposedly the folks at 4xshaft are starting to see a lot more requests due to problems with the factory front drive shafts whether lifted or not. Something about the QC on the internals probably isn't the greatest.

Interesting... If they're saying it I would be inclined to believe they're telling the truth, why lie about that? Makes me hope mine holds out. Haha
