Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

ok so I was driving home from work one day and all of a sudden my truck died which is a 04 f150 4.6. I then tried to restart it but it would not turn over at all. I then find out that i am not getting any power to my fuse box so i replace it now the truck will turn over even start sometimes but only for 2 or 3 seconds and the die. then I realize my fuel pump is not working so I replace it and the fuel filter....same thing still. I've replaced spark plugs and the fuel pump drive module also it still does the same thing. But today I tried to hook up a code reader to see what was wrong but it would not come on I realized I had no fuse in the cigarette lighter spot in the fuse box. I put it in and the code reader comes on but now the truck will not turn over at all but when I take the fuse back out it will but none the less it wont start and run......please help me

No need to double post, you need a tech to put hands on or keep firing the parts cannon at it.

IS the fuel pump coming on? IS there power to the module? How is the module ground? They can be rusty since they are on the back on top of the frame

yes the fuel pump is comming on and I bought a brand new module

Hi Eddie601, first slow down and take a deep breath. First, do you have dependable power to your fuse panel? You can start by turning on your running lights and trying to see if you can make them blink by wiggling the battery posts, wiring harnesses, etc... just make sure you don't have power cutting in and out due to a loose connection, bad ground or an intermittent main fuse. Make sure all the lights are all on at the same brightness. If they aren't, it's probably a bad ground. Fix that first and things may begin to fall in place and start to work properly.
It would also be helpful to hookup a volt meter or a light to the fuel pump fuse so you can see if it comes on when you try to start it or if it begins to blink when your engine quits running.

ok I will check that asap...but are they supposed to blink by just wiggling the battery post or is that a problem

That would be a problem. You shouldn't be able to make the light blink at all. Clean the battery posts and coat them with a little patrolium jelly if you have some. Make sure the terminals are tight and all the wiring hanging off of them are clean and tight as well. Clean, shinny and tight is the secret. Then make sure there's still no blinking, at all, when you wiggle the wiring.
Also if you don't already; get into the habit of removing the negative terminal of the battery first when disconnecting the battery and connecting it last when reconnecting it.
