Oil Leak
Been trying to figure out the oil leak exact spot in my 86 F150 for a few weeks now to no avail. With it running, it will piss through almost all 6 quarts in an hour. Someone looked at it yesterday and told me something about a spot behind the harmonic balancer, anybody know what he's talking about?

Rear main seal ?

never done that before..sounds like you are talking about the forward seal ? you never mentioned where it was pissing out of...I assumed it was by the oil pan.
|
No it's coming out of the front, spraying on to the manifold but I know it isn't the valve cover gasket. Maybe it is front main seal, I have no idea as I've never encountered this before.

Timing cover gasket/Crankshaft seal. That's what I was thinking of.

^^^ makes sense ^^^

Now to figure out how to do it without messing up anything in the process and fixing the leak
|
If its spraying out its under pressure probably something as simple as oil pressure sensor or loose filter. put on old clothes get under it with engine running take a rag and a flash light and find the leak before you start tearing things apart.

Get down and dirty get under truck with engine running, find leak check oil pressure sensor and filter first before you tear it apart.
sorry for repeat thought it didn't go through 1st time |
