Oil change (computer or 5,000 miles?)
Do you guys/gals change your oil according to the computer or do you go by the recommended 5,000 miles?
This is assuming, of course, that the computer shows oil life as lasting longer than 5,000 miles. I was told the computer usually says to change it after about 7,500 miles. |
This is worth reading: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/when-...mation-372751/
In saying that I change my oil no sooner than 7500 miles which is usually about 20% oil life left. |
^^^ I suppose it's worth reading if you like to spoken to like a 5 year old. That "sticky" is nothing short of being offensive, insulting and racist.
Change the oil when YOU want to and or follow the olm. |
5000 miles. Its worth my $40 to protect my $50k investment every 5000 miles

Oh Goody. Another discussion about oil changes....that will end with the same old result...:glare:

Since I haven't joined in the fun before, that I remember, here is my answer.
I change it every 5k miles, but 1/2 of my miles is towing a travel trailer. |
I believe the older the truck gets the sooner it should be changed. I change my 09 with 125k every 5000 miles.
|
Whenever you feel like it.. everyone is different and it doesn't matter what anyone else does.
Put full synthetic in every 1000 miles... someone on here will say they do. |
I change mine every 5k whether she needs it or not. I don't drive much (almost 5 yr old and 14,300 miles on the odo) she'll be getting her 3rd change sometime next year. ;)
