Default my 2013 ecoboost question

normal or not. when i depress the pedal to the floor, it bogs for a second or two and then takes off. what causes this?

Do I need to run 93 octane? will 89 work as well and will i get the same performance with 89?

Mine does the same thing, I was told it was the supercharges spooling up.

yeah, but when it takes off, it make up for that second doesn't it Actually, mine pauses too, maybe one second, but seems like an eternity. Still, I have no problems merging or passing.

Normal, it's called turbo lag and is actually a very small amount of time compared to many other turboed vehicles.

2 turbos, not a supercharger.

its not turbo lag

it is the product of drive by wire and trans catching up
most new cars with computer controlled throttle will do this

you'll get quicker acceleration if you press the pedal down slow and smooth

just my experience

^what he said

You mash the gas and the tranny disengages, the engine revs spool up the turbos and the truck drops back in to gear with 400hp on tap.

Less agressive pedal mashing will get you instant acceleration just less of it.
