4wd to 2wd transmission swap
hi. ive got a 1999 f150 5.4 4x4. i put a 2000 f150 2wd transmission in it and its like something is binding up and the engine wont turn over. it was turning over before i made the swap. any ideas what i could be? thanks

These guys are really awesome with any type of tranny questions or problems. It sounds to me like the converter is hanging up and not fully engaged on the output shaft. The converter has to be below the bell housing or it is not fully seated. It will destroy it if you use the bolts to "pull" the tranny up. Good luck, I rebuilt an '90 AOD and it worked great for my first rebuild.
