Default new alternator

my mechanic just installed a new alternator in my 1997 F 150 4 x 4. mileage is 125,000 miles

I noticed that the battery guage now points to the absolute top in the red zone. when it runs.

I checked voltage with multi meter when turned off......12 volts
I checked voltage at idle 14 volts

now a week later the dayalight running lights flickered and quit

and the high beam lights don't work

and one headlight is not working4

park lights work fine

any idea what the problem is?

thanks
dave

I would say a cheap alternator voltage regulator... take it back to your mechanic.
